Every May I sit down to write Homeward Bound and I write about Mother’s Day. And Why not …. After all it
is a very special day for very special people.
Mother’s Day is a celebration honoring the mother of the family, the mother of My children as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. Mother’s Day is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in the month of April or May.
We celebrate Mother’s Day this year Sunday May 12th, 2019. My Mom used to tell me repeatedly, what to do and what not to do, all which was very valuable advice. Now as I look back all those years ago, I can say she was, a very wise woman.
Time reveals in fact, just about every caring Mother is a Wise Woman. I can see why we carve out a special day each year to acknowledge Moms, so here is a salute to all Mom’s – Happy Mother’s Day!!
Growing up Mother’s Day was a big celebration in our family. We always made sure that we were visiting her and bringing Flowers, Plants or Chocolates. Some of us even took her out for lunch or we had lunch together at her house. She was so happy to see her children and grandchildren.
Unfortunately, My Mom past away over 12 years ago and is no longer with us, but I know She is looking down at me. I visit her crypt at the cemetery to say Happy Mothers Day, bring Her Flowers and a Card. I miss Her very much and think about Her every day. Love You Mom!
